What You'll Do
As an Engineer Automation Quality at Empower, your primary focus will be validating software functionality through the design and maintenance of robust automated test frameworks.
- Design, develop, and maintain moderately complex automated test scripts for various software applications.
- Execute automated test cases rigorously and report results to the broader engineering team.
- Conduct a mix of functional, UI, and API testing on a day-to-day basis.
- Independently identify, document, and track software defects through to resolution utilizing JIRA and ZE management tools.
- Maintain clear, concise documentation for all test cases, test results, and tracked defects.
- Maintain and update existing automated test scripts to ensure ongoing compatibility with the latest application changes and enhancements.
- Follow established automation best practices and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Perform manual testing occasionally when specific project needs dictate.
- Mentor and guide associate automation quality engineers, assisting them in upskilling.

What You Need (Requirements)
Candidates must possess a blend of strong analytical problem-solving abilities and deep technical testing expertise to succeed in this role.
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of overall testing experience.
- 1 to 2 years specifically dedicated to automation testing (or equivalent automation training).
- Strict requirement for proficiency in the Java programming language (core concepts).
- Strong knowledge of BDD frameworks, particularly Cucumber.
- Strong hands-on experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Karate, JUnit, and TestNG.
- Proven experience in UI and API functional testing along with a strong understanding of requirement analysis.
- Excellent debugging skills to identify root causes of test failures.
- Required familiarity with SQL and database testing.
- Mandatory experience with version control systems (Git) and defect tracking tools (JIRA).
- Knowledge of continuous integration tools like Jenkins is considered a strong plus.
