What You'll Do
As an Associate Engineer at Eaton, your day-to-day work spans test development, system validation, framework optimization, and cross-functional bug tracking.
- Write robust test scenarios and test cases for both firmware and software components of embedded platforms, performing extensive manual and automated testing.
- Execute end-to-end system-level tests on integrated platforms, identify defects using JIRA, TFS, or QA Complete, and collaborate with developers to resolve them.
- Design, execute, and maintain extensible automated test suites using Python and C# integrated into a CI/CD environment.
- Utilize automation tools like Robot Framework and PyCharm to automate test cases, enhance existing frameworks, and utilize AI to accelerate QA output.
- Set up and maintain complex test environments involving actual hardware and simulation tools.
- Participate in design and code reviews, maintain detailed QA metrics, and work with SCADA communication protocols like DNP, MODBUS, and IEC61850.

What You Need (Requirements)
Candidates must combine an engineering background, scripting proficiency, and a strong foundational understanding of embedded systems and automation tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Electronics, Electrical, Controls, Instrumentation, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of professional experience in QA automation or embedded software testing.
- Strong programming and scripting skills in Python and C#.
- Experience using automation tools and frameworks such as Robot Framework and PyCharm.
- Familiarity with CI/CD environments, version control (Git, SVN), and issue tracking software (JIRA, TFS).
- Understanding of embedded systems, RTOS principles, and SCADA communication protocols (DNP, MODBUS, IEC61850).
