What You'll Do

As a Software Development Engineer III, you will invent AI-native tooling and lead the design of autonomous operational systems.

  • Ship LLM-powered remediation agents that detect, diagnose, and resolve operational issues automatically, replacing manual runbooks.

  • Build self-healing deployment platforms using safe primitives, automated integration testing, and pipeline intelligence to drive continuous, hands-off delivery.

  • Develop the FBA knowledge foundation by creating OE infrastructure and knowledge-graph tooling that allows AI systems to reason about services autonomously.

  • Invent AI-native tooling to eliminate reactive toil for other teams, focusing on building systems rather than managing operational backlogs.

  • Mentor junior engineers, act as a tech lead, and collaborate directly with senior and Principal SDEs for design guidance and code review.

  • Ensure provable impact by measuring and optimizing systems that free up engineering resources across 55+ teams.

What You Need (Requirements)

To succeed in this role, you must have extensive experience in software architecture, technical leadership, and a strong interest in applying AI to engineering challenges.

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.

  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.

  • 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture (focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

  • Experience building automation, platform, or developer-productivity systems (CI/CD, observability, agentic/AI-assisted tooling) (preferred).

  • Hands-on interest in applying LLMs and AI-native approaches to real engineering problems (preferred).

  • Bias for measurable impact and comfort inventing in an ambiguous, high-ownership charter (preferred).
