What You'll Do
As a Software Development Engineer II, you will design, manage, and own technologies within the Alexa Shopping programs space to drive system architecture and new product features.

Design and implement software solutions that address customer needs, balancing functional and non-functional requirements such as scalability, performance, and security.

Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including product definition, scoping, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing operational support.

Ensure root causes of issues are identified and permanently resolved.

Write high-quality, well-documented code and actively participate in code reviews, coaching others on best practices for logical, maintainable software.

Evaluate new tools and approaches, including generative artificial intelligence, to improve engineering workflows and recommend adoption.

What You Need (Requirements)
To qualify for this role, you must have strong professional experience in software development and the architecture of scalable systems.

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling) for new and existing systems.

Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
