What You'll Do
As an AWS Software Development Engineer, you will own the end-to-end development of critical database features and infrastructure.

Own everything from end to end: requirements gathering, designs, design reviews, implementations, code reviews, and incremental feature launches.

Build and manage Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS.

Work on the hardest engineering problems in distributed systems at a massive scale and on multiple dimensions.

Design software architectures focused on design patterns, reliability, and scaling for new and existing systems.

Drive operational excellence, handle deployments, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Mentor team members and collaborate with senior and principal engineers to innovate on DynamoDB capabilities.

What You Need (Requirements)
To qualify for this role, you must bring hands-on experience in building complex software systems and a strong understanding of distributed architecture.

3+ years of experience building complex software systems.

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.

Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations (preferred).

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent (preferred).
